2010 Concord Sports Center ASL Rules
1.
Team make-up and avoiding
Forfeits:
-
Any number of players on the
roster. Roster deadline
for each session is 2 weeks after the league starts.
Players may be added to the roster up until then.
Teams will not play unless paid in full. All players
must be listed on and have signed their team’s official
roster in order to be eligible to play.

Teams must have a
minimum of 6 player to avoid a forfeit.

Picking up players to
Avoid a forfeit or playing shorthanded: If a team
is shorthanded when picking up players, you MUST inform
the opposing captain & umpire. Failure to inform the
opposing captain & umpire that you are picking up
players can result in forfeit.
You cannot pick up extra
players, so only 8 total players.
PICKING
UP PLAYERS IS ONLY ALLOWED IN REGULAR SEASON GAMES, NOT
IN THE PLAYOFFS.

Forfeit policy
pertaining to a team not showing up – If a team
does not show up without notifying CSC the team will be
eliminated from the rest of the schedule. To avoid this
penalty CSC MUST be contacted by 3pm the day of the
league. Calling and
leaving a message is NOT acceptable notice, you must
reach someone. If you leave a message or send e-mail it
is not considered notification unless you receive a
reply. There is no additional penalty if you show
up short-handed and have to forfeit the game, since you
did make an effort to get a team to play. Once CSC is
notified you are forfeiting, it is official (You cannot
change your mind), the other team will be notified.
2.
CSC Facility House & Ground
Rules:
-
Right Field Rule hitter
whose batted ball hits/makes contact with the outfield
net or wall (whether on the ground, in the air or
deflected off the ceiling) cannot be thrown out at first
base on a force play. However any other base runner can
still be thrown out at any base they are running to.

Outfield Wall:
Sections of net are considered walls and all balls hit
off these areas are considered live but not catchable
for outs.

Ceiling Areas:
Ceiling areas, any netting above the nets which is
defined by steel cables, will be
considered the
ceiling. Balls hit off the ceiling areas are live and
catchable for outs. Should the balls become lodged in
the netting or fall behind the fence, the batter will
ONLY advance to 1st.

Miscellaneous Rules:
-
In order to prevent
injury, all foul balls will be considered dead and
not catchable for outs.

Umpires may call fouls
before the ball lands, if he/she feels there may be
a possibility of injury on the play.

The Infield Fly rule
will not be used.
-
All games play for 60
minutes at which time the buzzer will sound. Any
innings in progress will be completed.
